It hasn't been a regular thing for decades. Boomers were probably the last generation to regularly get these. And even then it was industry and position dependent. I had a job that gave Christmas bonuses but that was an anomaly in my career where a large portion of my total compensation was performance based bonuses in that job.
I received a Christmas bonus a single time at my last company after I was promoted to a higher salaried position. The next year they changed it so that only senior directors and above were getting bonuses.
Mine is that I get a week off starting with Christmas but I also don't get paid for any of it.
And there was a blind raffle for a few TEMU items that mostly went to upper management which I don't get why they want that crap enough to make sure they were the winners.
