I maybe wrong but didn't Iran hate Afghanistan when the Taliban took over? If so why didn't Iran go in and liberate them? Raising the question could Iran have prevented 911?

The Taliban didn't cause 9/11. I'm not even sure what your train of logic is.

Al Qaeda caused 9/11 first and foremost. So let's get that part fixed. The Taliban allowed Al Qaeda to stay in Afghanistan, but even the Taliban cannot keep the country under its full control.

Consider that ISIS-K is actively at war with the Taliban right now (and in many ways ISIS-K is the successor to Al Qaeda).
