30 0 ReplySecond obtainium. I had been looking for an app that does what it does exactly -- was super happy to find it and have it work pretty well.
6 0 ReplyFor some reason the Obtainium link does not work in mobile, but this one without index .html does: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/dev.imranr.obtainium.fdroid/
5 0 ReplyThank you. I am not sure how that only ended up on that link.

Antennapod is so damn good!
4 0 ReplyI love syncthing. So convenient for transferring files between windows, android, and MacOS. Platform agnostic is the best.
Obtanium is awesome too for simplifying the process of updating apks from github.
3 0 ReplyDAVx5 came bundled with e/OS when I changed over but I've had no luck getting it going and I struggle to follow the guide. Would you happen to know of like an idiot's guide to getting started with it? Or could someone perhaps briefly summarise how to get going with it?

1List is the best list-making app I've tried that's open source. Really polished and quick.

Along those same lines, Notally is the best note taking app I've tried.

And since someone else mentioned Voyager, I'll mention Eternity as well!

Lastly, Weawow is the best weather app I've used, though Quickweather on f-droid is a close second (but requires an API key to work, so bit of a hassle to set up).

11 0 ReplyI like the look of both of these but do you know a way to sync them with a PC?
2 0 ReplyYou can use Syncthing (the fork on FDroid is better) and Obsidian (for the notes). You can also use obsidian services (might be paid) for the sync but its easy enough to do yourself.
2 0 ReplyI don't believe so. The only options I see in the settings is the ability to export and import lists and notes manually with a file.

4 0 Reply- Signal signal.org↗ - Free, open source, completely end-to-end encrypted messaging that lead by a non-profit.
- Shelter f-droid.org↗ - Use Android's built-in "Work Profile" feature to install or clone apps into an isolated space.
- Simplex f-droid.org↗ - Like Signal but for the more paranoid. Not as good from a UX perspective so I can't recommend it to everyone, but definitely just as good if privacy/security is your ultimate requirement.
4 0 Replyhow does shelter differ from insular - assuming you know. I just haven't seen that one and am curious

Fossify Gallery: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.fossify.gallery/ . This is a fork of the old Simple Gallery from before it got bought out. Same deal with Fossify File Manager and the other Fossify apps. Just no-nonsense functional apps.

Does it do OPDS for Calibre integration? I don't see that in the features.
2 0 ReplyI don't use this feature much so I can't speak to the details, but yes, it does support OPDS.
