Looks interesting. Some kind of mushroom sauce on rice?
7 0 ReplyThe gravy has garlic, ginger, scallion, and shiitaki mushroom for veggies. It's a roux-based beef stock gravy with soy sauce and Worcestershire.
That goes over sushi rice and a burger patty, then topped with a fried egg and scallions.

Crazy snot?
3 0 ReplyIt's a popular Hawaiian meal. I didn't make the name, just the recipe.
3 0 ReplyMoco in Spanish is mucus/snot/buggers.

This is my other favorite dish. This one screams savory and satisfying without being cloying. There is enough clear, thoughtful execution and a demonstrated care for flavor and texture that you can tell it isn't muddled extravagance but rather tightly argued decadence.
2 0 ReplyLooks almost too "high brow" for what it is.
2 0 ReplyIt's right on the cusp of tackiness. Not quite "beef croquette on brioche with pommes fries" level of overembellishment, but we're close.
