Didn't play much this week. Mainly continuing with Dragon Age: Inquisition, plus some more puzzles in The Last Campfire.
My wife, who generally doesn't play games, got back into Tetris 99, even reaching 2nd in a gruelling match. Also playing some single player Tetris in Puyo Puyo Tetris.
What about all of you? What have you been playing? Or planning to play over the weekend?
I have still a few game to keep up on the trails side. I play the trails to the sky and trails of cold steel series. So Trails from Zero is a first for me. If i have enough time i add trails from azure to it after i finish it. I try to play a few trails games each year to get up to date. I think all of them at once would be to much.
The original plan for the week was to continue Senren * Banka, but I got this game on the mail during the week, decided to try it for a just a bit... and remembered how I'm hopelessly addicted to this series.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Super Robot Wars games are turn-based strategy RPGs where units from several mecha anime band together, so you can have the Evangelions teaming with Gundams and Daitarn 3 against common foes, with really cool attack animations and a crazy crossover plot mixing elements of all the series involved.
It's a very old series, the first game was released in the 90's for the original B&W Gameboy, but while there are over 50 games in the series almost none of them were released in the west due to the complex licensing involved. But luckily for the english-speaking audience since the PS4 they started released Asian "multi-language" versions of these games, so we can finally enjoy them properly.
I had already played this game on the PS4, but could not resist a recent sale and double-dipped so I now have the Switch version as well. Decided to use the female protagonist (Chitose) for this replay since I love herthemes, and I'm currently around Stage 20.
There's 4 of them on the Switch/PS4, and all of them have an Asian/English version.
Super Robot Wars V
Super Robot Wars X
Super Robot Wars T
Super Robot Wars 30
I personally rank them in this order: V > T > X> 30, but I always recommend people trying these games to look into which anime/mecha series are included on each and get whichever has more series you like.
You can find this information (along with a lot more) on the Akurasu Wiki.
Been playing Paper Mario some more. Beat Chapter 2 and got the quest to go a few floors down the Pit of 100 Trials to save a Toad's dad, which is always my cue to go way further down to level 50 and get the inventory upgrade, since I'm already there. It's quite nerve-wracking to go down there with 10HP, but I made it and I was only caught by surprise and lost my Life Shroom once. Would have been easier if I hadn't insisted on tattling every new enemy, but you just gotta! It was a nice preview, it's not like I'll have any more health at the end of the game when I go all the way.
Progressed further in Yakuza Kiwami 2 and unlocked the Mahjong Parlor. And I have finally done it, I've won a game with Thirteen Orphans, a hand I have been chasing for literal years! Not just in Yakuza games, but Mahjong games on the Super Nintendo as well. And while doing that, I have learned that you can steal tiles from a Kan. I thought it was all over when the last tile I needed was put to the side in a pile of 4, but I was allowed to call Ron! I guess I should return to the story now. I think someone important was bleeding out or something...
Honestly, 99% of what I know about Mahjong I learned from the ingame tutorials in Yakuza 0 and I went in with zero knowledge. I knew so little, I thought the tiles you threw out were your hand.
I bought Vandals on the Switch. It's more Hitman GO than Laura Croft GO, but still good. Good soundtrack too.
Off the Switch I'm playing Destiny 2, (still haven't finished TFS,) amd seeing what my new, (to me,) Linux can handle with an integrated GPU. Thus far its hiddle folks and GeForce Now on a chromium browser.
Vandals looks nice. I somehow missed it. Added to wishlist.
I am waiting for Destiny 3. Tried getting into 2, and loved the gunplay but felt completely lost with narrative, so waiting for a point where a new comer can jump in and enjoy the game.
I recently started Digimon Cyber Sleuth! I've never played a Digimon game before but this one has been fun so far. There definitely seems to be more of a push to constantly evolve your mons than Pokémon.
Cyber Sleuth is pretty highly rated. I was thinking about starting this or Octopath Traveler, but then went with Octopath Traveler. Will get to it soon-ish though.
