I don't think Dems like leftists very much either, considering how the Democratic Party has treated all candidates who are even remotely left of center, and how they basically shout at leftists that "they're supporting Nazis if they won't support their genocide."
The Overton window has shifted. Center isn't where you think it is any longer.
