My music taste is old. I mostly listen to music from the 60's to the 90's (it's not because I think music was better back then, just that I personally prefer music from that period).
Most of it is rock and It's a wide variety of subgenres. Progressive rock (Yes, Genesis, Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd), 60s psychedelia (The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, 13th Floor Elevators), 80s indie (The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Replacements) and much more (The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, The La's... I could go on)
But I've also been listening to Electronic and House music. My favorite genre being Plunderphonics (The Avalanches, Fatboy Slim, DJ Shadow)
But also others (Daft Punk, Röyksopp, Kraftwerk, Air)
At the end of a day, It's a total mess and I still want to get into HipHop!
i love breakcore so much i love destroying my ear drums with super fast drum beats but its so hard to recommend to anyone because breakcore artists will unironically go by "goreshit" and name their songs "Pixel Rapist" (seriously goreshit is really good but a lot of his songs have really really weird titles).
i also recently got into metal, mostly just slipknot tho.
Had no idea what breakcore was so I looked it up. Someone's definition of breakcore was:
"Breakcore is what happens when you take the sensation of hitting your elbow on the table, combine it with TV static and carbonated water then turn it into audio form"
Thanks for introducing me to a new music genre that sounds like nothing I've ever experienced before! After listening to 3 minutes of a song I feel absolutely mindfucked. Help lmaoo
They still mostly do electronic, but a larger variety of it; simliar to how they were before they broke up into "instinct" and other channels. Its definitely always changing, so if you are still into electronic-adjenct music I would suggest giving a few of thier most recent uploads a shot.
Monstercat -> play all starting from most recent. Keeps me up-to-date with the electronic music world, and is great when working. Because I cant understand lyrics from audio processing issues (unless I really focus) I perfer music without lyrics cause that forces the artist to make the music more interesting.
ive been listening to a lot a lot of cake and beck recently, because i had i nostalgia trip back to my when sister used to play them all the time back in the day
