Nintendo sent a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice for over 8,000 GitHub repositories hosting code from the Yuzu Switch emulator, which the Zelda maker previously described as enabling “piracy at a colossal scale.”

  • I believe there's a reason behind this tactic.

    Basically, Nintendo wants GitHub to set up automated filters for keywords related to their IP. They're hoping that Microsoft, GitHubs owner, will take the carpet ban method to avoid any further litigation.

    But, Microsoft has to tread carefully here. One major disaster and they may be handing GitLab a crapton of new costumers.
