I just got back from a run to the grocery to get the hot sauce I forgot when I bought chicken drums. It's 2 days late but tonight we're having some buffalo chicken! πͺ
My best strategy for dealing with this is leveraging my inability to deal with having any notifications whatsoever on my phone. Hence my strategy is:
Anything that can't be completed right away gets added to the task list
All tasks get assigned a time, at which point a notification with the task appears
I promised the list I would do it, and I want the notification bar to be clear - this is often enough of a push to get me to remember and do things.
A great aspect of having an ongoing checklist that you actually respect is that things written down on the list don't have to be actively thought about - this calms my mind.
Bonus:
If you can't manage to do it, it's fine to push it ahead to a later date, if the task allows for it. Learning to forgive myself has been immensely useful for coping with the everyday struggles
