The Hurun Research Institute has released its sixth annual Global Unicorn Index, which ranks private companies and startups worth at least $1 billion. Genshin Impact maker miHoYo became the most valuable game developer on the list.
The world building and lore is actually good though. That said, the dialogue writing is god awful more often than not. The gameplay mechanics are pretty decent, but the grind is abysmally awful. If the grasscutter project sticks it out all the way to the end, I'm probably going to start over after the main story is complete but without the RNG and micro transactions.
They're not publicly traded, so there isn't much of a reason for them to make terrible decisions for short term gains. Though they did submit an IPO application in 2018 and then withdrew it in 2020. Perhaps because they had no need for the money after genshins insane success, not sure if they withdrew it before or after that became clear
