Wasn't the government all up in their shit, being so anti mutant and shit? I haven't seen it in forever, but if anyone deserves to be sovereign citizens, it's probably the X-Men.

Beast: you guys are getting paid?
Unironically if anyone is getting paid it would be beast. Dudes a doctor.
I would imagine he gets the checks, but never cashes them since he spends all his time in his lab doing work because he really just wants to be fuckin' normal. Like it was a trope on the show to have him show up in a big fight where everyone is like "Whoa! He left the lab!"
I was kinda figuring he lived in the Institute because being such a visible mutant he might not be able to get jobs elsewhere or be trusted. But I don't really know X-Men lore.
