Pesticide regulation 'obsolete,' protects industry: scientific adviser's resignation
OTTAWA - The co-chair of Canada's scientific advisory committee has resigned his post over concerns about a lack of transparency and scientific oversight in pesticide management.
Its a shame he stepped down. It seems he really cared about improving the state of pesticide use and research but was held back by beauracracy (and probably corporate profits). Whoever replaces him will probably be complacent in letting pesticide companies continue to poison our land, water, and population while lining their pockets with pesticides lobbying money and a tax payer funded salary.
It’s not good that industry has so much influence over government policy, whether it’s the environment, Health Canada, the income tax system… all of it.
