Alleged Fun Fact: I was once, possibly even more than once, told that all jokes begin in libraries and eventutaly end up in operating rooms.
I don't get it
Jokes, and possibly memes, begin in a physical location. It is proposed that generally jokes begin in Libraries. And furthermore through the process of "telling jokes" (through speech, in written form, and possibly other means) these "jokes" move around to world. At some point in the history of a given joke, and for all jokes eventually, they will be told, literally spoken out loud, in an operating room.
But why is the operating room more humorous in juxtaposition to a library than some other location? Why not a gentleman's powder room in the Dallas airport?

I tried as much as possible but it started to chafe
