I was in a thread the other week where someone said they hated “religion” but didn’t have a problem with “faith”. I think I’m starting to understand what they meant by that.
When people reduce their faith to religion it loses its power and leads people astray.
Also there needs to be a distinction between organized religions with a structured hierarch and folk religions that are moreso a bunch of tennents and traditions that can be as localized and small as a single family or clan. For example damn near every American-Scots family who have been in North America long enough my own included seem to practices a type of ancestor worship usually alongside Christianity, why is that no fucking clue my best guess is that it's due to a certain level of social isolation.
