I don't block much stuff, but I only subscribe to things that don't generally feature US politics. So I essentially have two feeds: All and Subscribed. Scrolling All can be exhausting...

Same. I like to use All because I generally will get to see things, happenings, events, etc. that I wouldn't be otherwise seeking out. But it is damn exhausting that it's 90% what fucked up thing is happening in the government currently.
That seems like the ideal approach. I sometimes WANT a survey of what Lemmy is talking about and sometimes I don't. I've got massive tolerance for bullshit given my difficult upbringing but even I'm hitting limits and needing a break. It's madness.
