I think you may be misremembering the timeline?Because without covid you'd probably have to go back further in time (or maybe not cause Trump would've screwed things over anyways).
I'm just calling out that covid kinda acted as a soft reset on a lot of metrics (economic and otherwise) so anything looking back in time is going to be a bit funky.
