Take a look at the US construction industry. You'll find example after example of anti-immigrant construction workers. You'll also find that a huge number of companies which employ those anti-immigrant workers also employ immigrants illegally.
The industry ultimately cannot function without the illegal labor. That's why if you ask one of the anti-immigrant workers "why don't we just penalize the companies which use this labor illegally?" you'll always get crickets.
The elephant in the room is that no American citizens want these jobs -- at least not at the rates the immigrants make.
