This opinion piece was an operatic exercise in wishful thinking. Even as it admits that at least 47% of the population loves everything spewed in that rally, it still called it political suicide.
- 47% of the electorate is not 47% of the population.
  
  In 2016, when Trump won, he got 25% of the eligible populations vote.
- Yep. The question is whether his open fascism cost him more votes than it gained, but that is a question.
