I'm pretty sure what I would suggest would violate TOS. Nazis were not voted out. A literal war was fought to get rid of them. You can't vote them out. Democrats are fascists. Republicans are fascists. Just because one says nicer things and promises to do things (that they never do), doesn't make them not fascist.

Any self respecting actual left person wouldn't vote for a Democrat or a Republican. And voting won't fix anything anyways. It hasn't for 50+ years. Why would it now? You can't vote out fascists and oligarchs. The rich keep getting richer and everyone else keeps getting poorer no matter who is in power/control.

Democrats and liberals aren't left though. They're right wing, as are Republicans and conservatives. The actual left are Greens, Socialists, Communists, etc. None of which are represented by Democrats or Republicans. If Democrats want the actual left to support them, they need to start actually passing actual left policies, not ratcheting to the right every chance they get.

IMO, on Mastodon for example, most people don't understand federation and don't care about it. It sounds scary and complicated to them. And also in Mastodon's case at least, it's still extremely difficult IMO, to find people/sites/etc. to follow about topics you care about. You still, AFAIK, can't search by posts which is just dumb, IMO (at least on the instance/server) I'm on.

The whole pick an instance/server thing also confuses people. Most people don't care about that and don't even need to know TBH. Just auto-assign them to the most popular one and those who care about such things can manually pick their own.

I agree. I was legit shocked they didn't have Cody win at WM. Right now I'd guess one of the Usos or who knows, perhaps after the rest of the Bloodline abandon him they'll join up with Sami and he'll be the one? Maybe Solo since he seems to be the most loyal?

I read a comment somewhere where someone theorized that maybe they ruled this way to try to quell dissent ahead of a possible decision we won't like. I think maybe it was the Harper case? Not 100% sure.

I made a Mastodon account a while back after the Twitter nonsense and have used it somewhat, but not as much as say Twitter itself because most of the people I follow haven't joined. And therein lies one of the key problems with this or any Reddit alternative, if people don't join, it won't work. You need users and content both, you can't do it with just one or the other.

I also made a separate Lemmy account as I didn't realize I could use the same for all 3, but oh well. I kind of like having separate accounts for them as that makes more sense to me in my head.

Anything that encourages toxicity and trolling behavior, though I suppose in some ways that's unavoidable and is the nature of anonymity/pseudo-anonymity that online gaming offers.

I hope this mess they created destroys their site, they deserve it for being such smug asshole pricks about the whole thing.

Agreed. Live chat has its place for certain things, but for other things a forum type interface is better suited.
