  • Most people don't watch politics, and people that do overwhelming voted Democrat in the last election. Mayor Pete or whoever isn't going to convince my dad that Fox news was lying to him the whole time. We really need a new media strategy that cuts the corporate network middleman out.

  • The contradictory belief that voters who backed Trump are too stupid to understand what they voted for, but nevertheless deserve pain

This so much. The "voters are too stupid" narrative defangs any attempt to talk about how our systems misinform (or don't inform) voters.

  • I'm white and the only time cops have been a dick to me was when I was with my Asian friend. It's happened more than once. But the one time I was speeding by myself the police let me off on a warning and were rather nice about it. It's anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt.

  • Also the more charitable thing he didn't do:

    • Communicate effectively the good he has done

The Dems (Obama) bragged about not putting their name on the pandemic relief checks FFS.

We now know whether you voted for Kamala or Trump was widely a function of whether you consume political news. Biden failed to use the pulpit of the presidency to break through to "low-information" voters. Sure we can blame the average person for not being masochistic enough to wade through the news, but where do you go from there?
