Jein, toxische Inhalte sind extrem beliebt. Die Algorithmen verstärken oft nur das, was beliebt ist.

Anthology implies that the episodes/seasons are independent. That works for stuff like Black Mirror which had a gap of four years, but it doesn't work for story driven shows. I suppose the term "series" could work, it's already used by some shows like Doctor Who, but that term does double duty as it's also used to talk about shows in general. Installment could also work.

Almost three years between seasons, I suppose these really are just really long films now.

Two things come to mind, spotify was always a browser based app on mac/linux/windows, I think that was way more inefficient in the early days of doing apps that way. The other thing is that spotify originally used its users' computers as cache to serve other users, that might've caused some additional load.
