After Greece's "Great Idea" plan(conquering Western Turkey) got crashed, Greece wanted to protect the surviving greeks in Turkey from further reprisals. So both sides decided to partially exchange populations while protecting the remaining minorities. Eventually(30 years later) Turkey decided they didnt want any greeks left in Turkey and violated the deal. Greece on the other hand just kept being shitty to ethnic turks living in Greece but at least they are mostly ok now.
Most greeks are aware of civilian turks getting murdered. I am not so sure turks are aware of the civilian greeks slaughtered. This "exchange" ended 3000+ year of continuous presence(with majority or almost majority percentages) of ethnic greeks in Anatolia(Western Turkey).

If Hamas had a command node in the hospital, the IDF better start releasing videos of underground tunnels and rooms(used for storage/command/communication/etc). Command node implies there should be at least multiple tunnels going in and out the hospital. Surely it cant be hard to take some media into the hospital and show that tunnel, right? Also it is interesting how hamas didnt defend the hospital, at all. The hospital is huge and according to IDF is full of tunnels, that would make it a good place to ambush IDF. Especially since IDF would be less willing to bomb entire buildings, therefore it would be perfect for Hamas to fight there.

The far right greekcypriot organization EOKA B, overthrew the democratically elected, greekcypriot government of Cyprus. Their objective was unification with Greece, something that even the democratically elected government supported a few years ago but then stopped pursuing because of international pressure. So the dictatorship in Greece decided to overthrew the cypriot government in order to execute that initial plan(also we cant have anyone even slightly left leaning governing Cyprus, that would be absurd, fuck democracy).
EOKA B did some light ethnic cleansing of turkcyprtiots. Turkey was a guarantee nation of the independence treaty of Cyprus(along with Greece) and you could make a legal case that this gave them the right to intervene and stop the ethnic cleansing. This is what most turks believe happened. You could even say that the turks were morally obligated to intervene.
What many turks ignore was that Turkey invaded Cyprus twice. The first invasion, occupied 4% of Cyprus. This set in motion a series of events which extremely quickly led to the collapse of the dictatorship in Greece and their puppet EOKA B in Cyprus. Democracy was returning to both Greece and Cyprus. So there wouldnt be a unification or ethnic cleansing anymore. These events took place within weeks/months.
Of course, there were still issues to be solved regarding Cyprus(turkcypriots having veto power, etc) but at least the immediate threat of violence mostly ended there. Diplomatic talks were taking place.

NATO's is not going to be part of Turkey's geopolitical schemes. Nukes are needed in order to be on an even footing with the other regional powers(which will also have nukes). Even if Saudi Arabia/Iran never intend to nuke Turkey, they will be at an advantage.
Hard power translates to soft power. And if your regional opponents have nukes and you dont have nukes, you will be at a significant soft power disadvantage.
Btw Turkey is building its first nuclear power plant, with help from Russia. Saudi Arabia also intends to build nuclear power plants soon. Thats the first step to creating a nuclear weapon.
