Furi Phone FLX1: Debian smartphone debuts • The Register
  • Great to see, tempted to buy this on principle as I'm fortunate enough to have the disposable income.

They're ironing out some wrinkles with NFT support at the moment, and then the next planned feature is wireless display support.

Uh, I'm assuming they mean NFC support

  • How Well does Pop OS! Support Touch
  • I agree with this from using Pop on a Surface Pro 8, much more casual usage though: mainly web browsing, watching shows, light gaming and scrolling through PDFs/CBR files. Just using a cheap/non pressure sensitive stylus too

  • E. coli advice issued amid rise in cases
  • https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c722j41jyk1o

Some 113 people have become ill with E. coli in recent weeks and experts believe it is most likely linked to a nationally distributed food item.

The UK Health Security Agency says testing of samples suggests all of the cases since 25 May are "part of a single outbreak".

  • Crapped my system
  • PopOS has an ISO with Nvidia drivers included, no issues gaming straight away on my old 1080ti. As I'm a simpleton who just likes their system to with I've stuck with it even after upgrading to an AMD card

  • MOONDROP MIAD01 English product page
  • Very interested in this considering the specs for possible price. Would love to know exactly which cirrus logic DAC is in this device though. Also I'd be fine with sticking to Android 13 for an audio focused phone but wish they'd at least commit to security patches

  • Star Trek: Lower Decks Will End With Its Fifth, Final Season
  • Agreed, even as a huge fan of LD I could personally sense it being more difficult to write more stories for our lowly stalwarts of Starfleet in season 4. Better to be able to end still chanting "Lower Decks! Lower Decks! Lower Decks!"

  • Any good Linux Tablet recommendations?
  • I've got a SP8 which I've been running PopOS on since the start of the year. The cameras don't work but this isn't a deal-breaker for me, it runs smoothly and is perfect for my needs as a media consumption device (music, movies, comics) with some browsing. There were some issues I had on installation but nothing that couldn't be resolved. Many thanks to the Linux surface team!

  • Pop Shop - inconsistent apps showing

I recently installed Pop on another device, everything is fine except for Pop Shop which seems to be missing apps that I already have installed through there on my main desktop.

I checked that I hadn't accidentally deleted/messed with the sources and they all look fine. These are common apps like Librewolf, Joplin and Standard Notes.

I know they can be installed through other methods like apt or appimage but am curious as to the possible reasons behind the discrepancy. What's more confusing is that I had a few attempts installing Pop (as recently as 10hrs ago) on this newer device and they appeared then!

Tips for getting cheap(er) day tickets

Given (I believe) there's no mechanism for locals to get cheaper tickets, does anyone have any tips for grabbing cheaper day tickets? Wouldn't mind catching a fair few acts on Friday and Sunday, just not for £200+!
