first major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, addressing over 1000 bugs, balancing, flow issues and much, much more.
  • I’m wondering the same, I tried different stuff to see if I could get more dialogues, but apparently if there’s anything new I’m screwed. A shame because a big part of my RP in act 1/2 was based on the relationship with Minthara, sigh.

  • Any FOSS todo app for iOS?
  • I went down that rabbit hole once and it’s really hard to find a foss app that is enjoyable to use and actively maintained. Condution (https://www.condution.com/) seems to be one of them but I never tried it as it looks a bit too much for what I personally need.

Not open source but e2e encrypted and privacy focused is lunatask (https://lunatask.app/). They have a free plan and you can get access to the iOS beta (the app is fully functional). I don’t used it anymore but I paid for Lunatask and it helped a lot making order in my brain and switching from bloated apps to a more minimal todo approach. It’s highly opinionated, but it implements more than one “method”.

Currently I’m using https://github.com/sodenn/2do-txt because I switched to the todo.txt method, which better fits my need for a more minimal approach to those things. The app has ios/macOS version (with tauri build replacing electron) and you can sync with whatever you want (i use syncthing).

Hope it helps, the todo landscape on ios is a nightmare.

  • Do you still write notes with pen and paper?
  • This. Plus as a subjective thing: I personally remember stuff more easily when I write them down compared to typing. Also my written notes mix bullet points, regular writing, arrows and connections, without having to “switch mode” or install plugins.

I still use note-taking apps, sometimes as primary, sometimes as secondary tool.

  • Player stats for the first weekend of Baldur's Gate 3
  • For real, I have the week off, my gf is out for work, and I played all days since release, and I’m still way way behind 😂 granted I restarted after act 1, but still 😂

  • It’s nice to see a good chunk of people going down the evil road. The game does an excellent job in providing gameplay and roleplay rewards for these choices. I’m loving my playthrough so far and I’m always surprised by how many small interactions are there for any possible dialogue or action.

As for the class, me and a couple of friends also chose a paladin for the first character, but switched after act 1. Now I’m playing an evil warlock and holy moly I’m having so much fun.

  • What are some game genres / styles you like that aren't being made anymore, or are being mde but not very often?
  • Absolutely, I would still play DA:O and even the storylines of SWTOR over some other games that bloat the main story with unnecessary parts because otherwise the game is not long enough.

Please DA: Dreadwolf, do not suck.

  • What game mechanics do you love and hate?
  • I agree that is clearly broken and overused in many games but if we were able to actually control the walking speed on PC with a keyboard similar to what is possible with a controller, it would probably be more bearable tbh.

  • What 2FA app are you switching to? (iOS)
  • Ente Auth seems open source: https://github.com/ente-io/auth

But the need for account is trowing me off a little bit. I’ll give a try to 2FAS as well.

  • Anytype, an Obsidian alternative, is now Open Source
  • Sorry! I did not see the notification. So appflowy I think is desktop only for now, but afaik there is work in progress to bring it on mobile https://github.com/AppFlowy-IO/appflowy-editor/issues/68

As for silverbullet, the app is basically a PWA so if you have a server you can theoretically run it there and access it anywhere. I never tried but I heard people even collaborating, so. I had access to testflight beta for iOS, but I believe at one point the developer decided to focus more on stability and less on multi-platform releases, but I’m not sure. They have a discord channel where they are very active though.

  • First time macOS user, what are the essential apps?
  • If you need a gui text editor, BBEdit is pretty good.

Others that I haven't seen suggested and that I personally use daily:

    • KeepingYouAwake prevents the laptop to going to sleep (although there are tons of other ways to do it).
    • Raivo OTP if you have an iPhone with Raivo installed it copies the TOTP to the mac clipboard
    • Lulu as firewall for outgoing connections

Honestly, Alfred, Rectangle, AltTab and CleanshotX are almost essential, IMHO.

  • First time macOS user, what are the essential apps?
  • Honestly Cleanshot X is a total improvement of the native app and worth absolutely everything. Irreplaceable for me as of today.

  • First time macOS user, what are the essential apps?
  • Never knew about Linear Mouse 😱 thank you! does it work with logitech stuff? So i can finally get rid of their shitty software

  • Anytype, an Obsidian alternative, is now Open Source
  • Just trowing here other two open-source alternatives: https://silverbullet.md/ (Obsidian-like) and https://appflowy.io/ (Notion-like)

  • Anytype, an Obsidian alternative, is now Open Source
  • Nice, I will try it out. As others have said, seems more a Notion-like than an Obsidian alternative, but still a nice tool. Since using obsidian for more than a year I am used to having my markdown notes visible in my folders and access them also outside the application itself, but I saw I can export them from anytipe in markdown. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
