  • There's also NaCl which has a few nifty JS libraries, meaning it could be embedded right into Lemmy's UI.

    This is an example:

    https://tweetnacl.js.org/#/secretbox

Keybase works / used to work with NaCl.

  • Furaffinity or e621

  • Not right now. Once things are stable and running smoothly, I'll consider taking donations. Right now I feel like I need to earn it first :P

Fortunately my object storage provider is quite affordable and doesn't break my bank. Regarding reliability, I've been using them for 6 months on my Mastodon instance and can't complain at all.

  • In the Lemmy admins chat they were saying the same thing and also had no idea how it cached so much.

That said, it shouldn't be a problem. I've doubled the disk of the VM and in the next days will have media files upload to object storage just as I do with Mastodon. I just need to figure out whether I should wait for pict-rs release or mount the storage to the files directory using s3fs which is what I've seen recommended in some Lemmy discussiond from about a year ago.

  • Thank you so much for being here ^^ I couldn't do this all without you, regardless of how many servers I had.

  • Thank you for all your support <3

  • I noticed there's a warning on the page itself and it's very minor "artistic nudity". So, it's okay. Don't worry. If anyone has a different view on this matter please feel free to chip in!

  • Unusual but welcome nonetheless. Can you please confirm that all contained images are and will be SFW?

    Thank you <3

  • Note: admins can delete remote communities without having to block the whole instance.

If lemmy.world admins clicked on "remove" on the offending remote communities that would block them but keep access to the rest of the instance.

That said, I understand the concerns.

  • I just checked and all images in petplayyiff have it for me . Weird, but I'm worried.

  • I'm not sure. I created it with the nsfw tag from the getgo. I know that kbin is a bit less mature than Lemmy. Or maybe they both handle nsfw differently? Do you see other posts from Yiffit where this happens?

  • It is flagged as such for me.

  • Those are just your average blocked mastodon instances.

  • I don't think so. It's not linear. And of course, if you host many users or a lot of content then you could ask for donations.

  • Now imagine there being an ocean in between.

  • Yeah, I talked to them. Their admin was nice but let me know they would keep defederated until there was a way they could block only the nsfw content.

What I don't understand it's why they wouldn't block all nsfw content like lemmy.ml does. Then they wouldn't have to care.

  • That's actually the default behavior on lemmy. On yiffit our custom CSS style removes the blur, but you can re-enable it. Thinking about it, I should add a toggle/button.

Apologies for causing you problems. I'll review older posts and notify their authors to edit them if any lack the toggle.
