Finally seriously looking at [#Obsidian](https://pkm.social/tags/Obsidian) Sync.

    I use the Obsidian Git plugin at https://github.com/denolehov/obsidian-git to keep my vault backed up.

    This works with a private Git repository (like the private ones I use on Github).

    I would only recommend this if you are already familiar with git - there are a couple of things that are less obvious about how it works. But for me and my workflows it's good.

    So all this time I had the tag pane disabled (!) and had totally missed the "list of all tags by frequency of use" list, which has prompted a certain amount of cleanup and tidying to at the minimum try to fix single-use tags. Tag Wrangler helps that effort.
