Don't forget Temperature Sensors for your Fridge!
  • A lot of smart outlets develop problems over time from the inductive surge current on electric motor startup (air conditioner, fridge, dehumidifier). The current ratings in ads are generally for resistive loads. Inductive load limits can be 30% less.

  • I still have no idea.
  • This inspired me to go into science.

  • New research puts age of universe at 26.7 billion years, nearly twice as old as previously believed
  • https://bigthink.com/starts-with-a-bang/universe-13-8-or-26-7-billion-years/

    Tired light theory requires:

Distant galaxies to be blurry (they aren’t)
Events in faraway galaxies to happen at the same pace as nearby events (they don’t. Time is dialated just like frequency is redshifted)
Cosmic background radiation would not be a black body
Constants c, G, and hbar would change through the history of the universe.

  • Study suggests universe is twice as old as presumed

  • Blue Origin is planning to open new launch sites outside the US
  • Probably trying to avoid SpaceX’s launchpad environmental issues.

  • Good ROI Suggestions?
  • I think highest/easiest ROI would be devices that alert or avoid bad events.

    • freezer/fridge temp monitors to avoid food going bad (circuit failure, door cracked open, part failure)
    • water leak detectors (water heater, bathroom, sink)
    • open door alarms ( garage door left open overnight, fence door left open that lets dog out)
    • doorbell camera/microphone (unwanted visitors)
  • Computer simulation provides 4,000 scenarios for a climate turnaround
  • They do discuss several commonalities in the paper.

If it is to meet the Paris Agreement target, the worldwide average carbon price in 2030 needs to be equal to today's (2022) highest carbon taxes ($ 130–137 tCO2-1) that are observed in very few countries

Electricity cannot decarbonise the entire system alone, and hydrogen extends electricity's reach to hard-to-electrify sectors

The contribution of nuclear power in electricity production increases in the long-term in the decarbonisation scenarios. This is especially pronounced after 2050/60, when the wind and other renewable potentials are fully exploited and the additional electricity supply to meet the increasing demand needs to remain carbon-free.
