Fuck you, I'd forgotten all about that bullshit.
🖕
I feel that so hard. Where I work, inside a big refrigerated box inside a warehouse, there are times the only natural light I see is when I go outside for my breaks (for a total of a bit less than an hour). I live far enough north that it's dark when I start and dark when I end my shift. And yeah, that fucks with me pretty good
I have always found the night sky absolutely magical. And even when I'm in that state, there's something humbling and welcoming and comforting looking up at the stars and realizing that my feelings of "I don't matter" are valid because I am nothing in this great universe; and those moments are ok because everyone and everything are so insignificant in relation to the vastness of our universe
I've got nothing to add to the ddg discussion but today is the first time I've heard of ZoneAlarm. But I saw a post to a Firefox community about the latest update that included support for it and a couple people mentioned it. Just an amusing coincidence
That to me sounds like a very northern state phrase. I can absolutely hear my grandma saying that (not saying you/they are, just made me smile thinking of that)
For what? To engage in the community as a whole and to encourage others to as well, or to get your community noticed by people browsing the different filters (new, hot, active, top...)
For why I'd want to post? It would depend on what I'm posting. For example, if it was a meme I thought was funny and it got a lot of upvotes, I'd feel good knowing that other people found it funny, too
If I post looking for a conversation about a topic or at an answer to a question, I'd be excited for some upvotes but a little let down if no one actually responded
Also there's no incentive to be a karma whore on reddit either.. well except their harebrained idea to monetize whatever new award system is coming
Oooh, where can I read about this spicy news? I haven't been back to reddit since my app was killed
That's just stupid. I never have my taskbar anywhere else because it makes me ill. But fuck that, you can't tell me where to put it..
Oh that's sketchy AF. Can you share a screenshot? Not that I disbelieve you, but I'd love to see proof of reddit's fuckery with not actually removing content
I haven't yet overwritten/deleted my comments because I haven't been back since the initial blackout so I can't verify it myself
Your edits won't show up on Google for a long time (not sure how often it refreshes) but clicking through should show you your now edited/deleted comment
YOU KNOW, I LOVE ANY MF'ER IN A THONG. I DON'T CARE WHAT KINDA HOG YOU CRANK, I WANT TO SEE THOSE SWEET PORK CHEEKS
AROOO MFER!! I NEVER POSTED ON THE R* SITE BUT YOU BOIS HAVE BEEN ON MY MIND. THE WHOLESOME HOG CRANKIN BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE AND GOD DAMN AM I GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE BROTHER
It did for me, too, so I poked around a bit. If i search for just the YouTube video identifier (don't know the technical term) it brings up the video on yewtube , so this should work:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=f5cAap8pol0
(It doesn't seem to like the time appended to the end)
I've heard of this app during the past month but this is the first time seeing the icon. Holy shit is it adorable! And... I never saw it as mlem, I read it as m-lem so I also feel a little dumb
I'm on Android and waiting for sync or else I'd try it out. Good luck!!
As a covid-conscious weed smoker, I share joints now. Very selectively shared them in the years previous
Well if we're being like that screw youtube and google still, but screw iheart even more
I'm a redditfugee (?) but using the voyager web app absolutely scratches my reddit itch for reading/participating in discussions on posts. I switch which server I'm logged into and sorting methods to see the widest spectrum of content
As apps are being developed, there will be a more seamless experience but for now I'm excited to be part of something "new" and something that's going to be part of internet history
In a post somewhat similar on reddit, there was a link to calculate the worth of your reddit accounts. Didn't need a user name, just age and karma
Amusingly an older lower karma account is worth more than a newer, higher karma account
