  • I feel like this is the new normal cycle of every software company. Once they become a leader, it's never enough. It replicates the rise of billionaires. Just as the billionaires being rich beyond anything they and all of their succeeding generations could ever spend is not enough, being the industry leader and producing an amazing product that people want is somehow not enough. It always turns to control and power.

  • Yeah I agree. I feel like I'm still figuring it out and missing things. I switched to BlueSky and feel like that was almost intuitive. That's one of the big issues with moving away from reddit for a lot of users.

  • After being there for 12 years, I was banned for no reason I know of. Appealed it a bunch of times and finally gave up. Done with reddit. Maybe I'll grab content from there for here.

  • This is what countries without a good social support network look like. It's either government or younger generations that take care of elders. The US used to be government with retirement and social security but there's a shift and US kids were not raised in a social situation that supports elderly, so it's going to be a hard transition. The US has forgotten what the government was established for.
