Reducing the numbers of humans on earth would not make any significant long term difference. As long as infinite growth is the core principle of the worlds biggest economies, it doesnt matter how many people there are. We would still at some point overstep all planetary boundaries.
Studio One, which i have been using for years, has a linux beta that does already work quite well. But only in a wayland Session which means... no 3rd party plugin GUIs. And no clue when this might change, maybe never. Probably a deal breaker for 99% of the target group. I really want to switch to Linux, but for Audio guys it can be a pain. Reaper rules tho.
The fact that as long as you have enough money you can pollute as much and consume as much ressources as you want is basically the core issue with capitalism. Its like having an ongoing oil fire in your yard and nobody is stopping you as long as you can buy new oil.
Hard disagree. While they are worse nowadays due to tighter budgets and schedules they elevated several otherwise mediocre movies so much back in the day. There still are some legendary voice actors i love to listen to. It creates an unique experience different from the original. AI on the other hand... hate it.
Im struggling to switch to Linux for music production. I dont like ardour, reaper works fine but no Windows vsts... even with wine/yabridge getting paid ones with licence protection running is a mess. Compatibility with old projects (Studio one, there is a linux beta but needs wayland, i use Mint so another thing to change) is another difficulty. Of course none of this isnt solvable somehow but i dont think we are there yet offering Producers an comfortable switch.
Man as much as i love the man for creating my favorite soundtrack of all time, he never created anything even remotely comparable before or after lotr. I always wondered: What the hell happened with the guy at that time?
Im at the same point. I spent quite some Money on Studio one and plugins....i'll probably try a setup with Wine and/or Yabridge soon. Wouldnt mind that much if i had to switch to Reaper.
Nope, mp3 is not "better" than CD since its a lossy format. It uses how we perceive audio so we notice it as little as possible, but you definitely loose details
As an non-american, how this is not crystal clear even for the most hardcore communists is an absolute mystery to me.
