Hawai’i is Earth’s mustache.

Reddit's MapsWithoutNZ always brings me a grin.

Mine did, when they accidentally poked an exposed nerve, inside a broken tooth.

  • Books you think everyone should read at least once?
  • @gabe "And Then There Were None". There's been so many takes on this, over the years. Reading it is understanding a piece of society.

  • Just read Animal Farm by George Orwell and i loved it (No Spoilers)
  • @banazir @Rumo
I think this might be the adaption you saw? For its age, it holds up really well, today!

  • Any sci-fi with aliens where humans are not the less advanced race?
  • @rikudou
For a deeper philosophical spin on the idea, you might try "The Mote In God's Eye" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

  • Old Man And The Sea
  • @MariaRomanov A few people have told me that the whole thing needs to be read in a single sitting for it to work.

Personally... It's just slow and depressing. Nothing that really keeps me, and nothing that makes it feel worth reading.

  • Recommended mystery novels?
  • @OmegaMouse The Thursday Murder Club are a cosy something. Lightweight, easy to read, and they've absolutely taken off in the few years they've been out.

  • I have now seen two episodes of [#StrangePlanet](https://mastodon.social/tags/StrangePlanet), based on [@nathanwpyle](https://lemmy.world/c/nathanwpyle) 's comics.
  • @slazer2au I'm really enjoying the optimism. The world's sorely lacking for that. But there are some moments... They're not bad. Just leave this grizzled idiot a little unsure of everything.

  • Getting a "Little Free Library" for my birthday:
  • @jordanlund I prefer the 5x8" book size, and I think that'll work really well for your lil library.

Unfortunately, if you were to go with my favourite book series, Wheel of Time, that'd be all you have room for.

So... Winnie the Pooh, Muddleheaded Wombat, Looking for Alibrandi, some Animorphs, maybe Tomorrow When the War Began, Fairytales for Wilde Girls.
