Klar, das Problem zu lösen ist nicht einfach, aber denke auch nicht unmöglich.
Man kann eine technische Lösung finden. Z.b. eben dass die eigene Instanz die Daten nicht speichert sondern diese direkt vom Client von der föderierten instanz geladen werden. Dann wäre doch der Betreiber der eigenen Instanz mmn. raus oder nicht? (Klar geht das nicht so ohne weiteres das umzusetzen, denke dann muss man vom Activity Pub Protokoll weg)
Kleine "Föderationen" zu gründen fragmentiert die Community doch auch zu sehr. Wenn ich nachher 10 föderierte Instanzen habe, die sich an das deutsche Recht halten, ist das doch auch nicht groß anders als einen zentralen Server zu haben. Ich mache mir sicher nicht den Aufwand, 3 verschiedene Accounts zu erstellen und zu pflegen nur weil ich sowohl ich_iel, porn und piracy haben will.
Habe bisher echt spaß an Lemmy, aber hoffe, dass da irgendwas noch passiert.
Wie ist das eigentlich, wenn Inhalt von einer anderen Instanz in feddit angezeigt wird, wird der Inhalt dann dynamisch auf "Clientseite" von der anderen Instanz geladen, oder werden die Daten wirklich auf feddit repliziert und dort dann auch vorgehalten?
Beim ersteren sehe ich kein Problem bzgl haftbarkeit, beim zweiten allerdings schon...
Ja kann ich mir vorstellen. Aber da müsste man echt irgend eine lösung finden. Bis dahin kann ich aber verstehen, wenn Instanzen geblacklistet werden :(
Hmm kann ich respektieren, wenn man einige Sachen nicht moderieren möchte. Aber es kann ja auch nicht sein, dass die feddit mods alle anderen Instanzen mitmoderieren müssen oder? Das ist ja auch bei den gewhitelisteten Instanzen schon nicht möglich. Man müsste sich eigentlich drauf verlassen können, dass die Instanzen jeweils ihre nativen communities moderieren. Anders ist das doch nicht tragbar?

I get the same long press behaviour as you guys now. Wish it would affect the whole thread at least and not just a single comment. Kinda useless right now I feel
Thanks! What version are you using? I'm on 0.0.32 and long tapping (or short tapping for that matter) just hides the whole comment
[Edit] ok I was blind, there is already an option for that in the settings called "show action bar by default for comments" not sure, if this came with .33 or not but I'm happy now :D
But I agree with Celsiuss - long and short press actions should be swapped!

One suggestion:
Can you make an option to hide the controls for comments (up/downvote, permalink and so on...) and make them only pop up when I press on the comment?
When reading the comments of a post, the controls take away a lot of screen space. I don't want to interact with very comment, so hiding the controls would declutter the comment section imho
Example of what I mean in Sync for reddit:
I play only on PC and get motion sickness, if the FOV is too low / the camera is zoomed in too much.
Maybe try increasing the FOV (if possible) and see if it helps.
But I think this is only relevant when your monitor fills out your field of vision. If you are sitting back at your couch and gaming on TV which doesn't fill out your vision, this is probably not that big of a deal.
