Good to hear, the surge in the right in Europe is troubling.

Yeah, he doesn’t do China any favors via his own grip on power - it makes the quality of the country’s governance weaker. Ideally the govt. should have been stronger and held the line on term limits.

Ok thank you, but after hitting the hamburger menu all I see is: (below) are there supposed to be icons in that blank space? It’s happened for me already that sometimes icons load and sometimes they don’t (like the hamburger itself, I know it’s supposed to be there but I only see a blank space), but they have never loaded for me there.

Yeah exactly. I hope they’re trustworthy and real and not just really data mining on the backend anyway, kind of a leap of faith involved here for me with them.

I don't do anything particularly interesting, it's just while I'm working I don't want to get slowed down scrolling through sponsored listings and crap to get to what I need. Plus, I'd rather just pay for something than "be the product" with my data. I don't do anything weird but more privacy is better.

Hi, newbie here :-) How do we see all the posts on a topic like technology, but not just on Lemmy.ml where I happened to join, but from all over the "fediverse"? Could there be big discussions going on on other servers I'd just miss? How to get the complete bird's eye view on a topic across all of Lemmy?

Anyone else using Kagi.com for search? I'm using it as a paid user and it's fantastic, no ads and no tracking and results are great. I use ChatGPT for "ideas" and Kagi for specifics.
