What is the most painless and minimal way to dual boot these days?
  • i've been running two drives two EFI partitions dual boot for some time now and it never posed a problem specific to it. on the contrary it makes it easier to distro-hop since you can format the Linux EFI Drive and resize it however you want depending on the distro.

  • EU investigating if Telegram played down user numbers to avoid regulation | Ars Technica
  • that's exactly my concern since all this ordeal started, since i started using Telegram 7/6 years ago i only saw 3 or 4 channels taken down for copyright infringement hopefully it doesn't change after this but i doubt it.

  • An advice from Grandma
  • okay i figured it out, you have to create a .desktop file for miru in .local/share/applications and it must contain this line:

    MimeType=x-scheme-handler/miru;

    you can use Gear Lever which adds Appimages to the applications menu and creates the .dekstop file automatically for you so you don't have to do everything manually even the line above, it also has an update mechanism too

    it's preferable to Temporarily use Brave or a chromium browser as the default for it work properly if Firefox is your default

  • I'm excited for Cosmic Desktop
  • linux doesn't have that problem and most of the times you're asked if you want to add a shortcut on the Desktop during the install even on Windows, i mean it's good we have options for all the use cases and workflows by having these different Desktop Environments but i think having options within the DE itself is better for the long-term adoption but it's harder to maintain which i understand. i like the UI getting used to me not the other way around
