The justices of the supreme court ruled that Trump was immune and effectively above the law while being president. What is now stopping Biden from bringing a gun to the next debate?
  • He's the commander in chief, ordering a seal team or the CIA to assassinate someone is an official act and legal now. What you fail to mention in your haste to try to downplay this is that they also made it impossible to present evidence of crimes by the president, so any non-public action by the president is de facto legal. It would be impossible to prosecute because even if you gathered evidence he ordered the hit, you couldn't use it in court.

Yes, it's that bad. No, it's not that people are over reacting.

Read Sotomayor's dissent, she says explicitly that this gives the president legal immunity against assassinations.

  • Supreme Court impeachment plan released by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
  • Even if Democrats were to support impeachment, it would likely face hurdles due to Republicans’ narrow control of the House of Representatives.

What I don't understand is why wouldn't every single democrat support this? What better case for impeachment is there than a court that flagrantly ignores the constitution and tries to turn the president into a king? It's beyond the pale.

  • After Supreme Court immunity ruling, Biden draws sharp contrast with Trump on obeying rule of law
  • It makes him look even more out of touch with the moment though and incompetent.

If he's still unwilling to back a campaign to court pack and still unwilling to remove the biggest obstacle to a possible Democratic win in November (himself), his words mean very little. It's just more too little too late by Biden.

  • After Supreme Court immunity ruling, Biden draws sharp contrast with Trump on obeying rule of law
  • President Joe Biden warned Monday that a Supreme Court ruling granting presidents broad immunity from prosecutionwould make an unchecked Republican Donald Trump “more emboldened to do whatever he wants” if he regains the White House in November’s election.

And the justices kind of looked around quizzically and said "Yeah...no shit, that's the whole idea. Did you just get that?"

  • Supreme Court Justice warns Americans: "The president is now a king".
  • No doubt, but watching Americans get gunned down by police at a protest isn't going to make people less radical, it radicalizes more people. Especially if it's happening under someone as despised as Trump. It's not like he has a bunch of good will with the majority of Americans, at most he's depending on their apathy.

  • Holy voting choices!
  • The democratic primary was canceled in many states, they made it impossible for anyone to run a serious campaign. They wouldn't even have the candidates for interviews on their networks, not even to maybe pressure Biden to stop leaning so far to the right.

  • Holy voting choices!
  • Or even "Hey Alfred, could you stop giving the Joker those bombs he's using to kill children?"

  • Holy voting choices!
  • Yup, people so quickly forget that Biden and his campaign heavily implied that he planned on being a one term president. Somehow that whole thing came and went.

How people allow themselves to be gaslit like that over and over and just wipe it out of their memory is beyond me.

  • I linked you directly to an article discussing the lawsuit.

    https://observer.com/2017/08/court-admits-dnc-and-debbie-wasserman-schulz-rigged-primaries-against-sanders/

On August 25, 2017, Federal Judge William Zloch, dismissed the lawsuit after several months of litigation during which DNC attorneys argued that the DNC would be well within their rights to select their own candidate. “In evaluating Plaintiffs’ claims at this stage, the Court assumes their allegations are true—that the DNC and Wasserman Schultz held a palpable bias in favor Clinton and sought to propel her ahead of her Democratic opponent,” the court order dismissing the lawsuit stated. This assumption of a plaintiff’s allegation is the general legal standard in the motion to dismiss stage of any lawsuit. The allegations contained in the complaint must be taken as true unless they are merely conclusory allegations or are invalid on their face.

I'm blocking you now. Good bye.

  • Biden hasn't even parsed the news yet most likely, let alone magically grown a spine.

  • Gas masks too. Look to the Hong Kong umbrella protestors for inspiration on how to prepare and what to expect from a fascist crack down.

  • Supreme Court Justice warns Americans: "The president is now a king".
  • And they're going to quickly find out how much that illusion of power is worth when they try to contain or cross whatever right-wing fascist they help empower.

These idiots think their power structure isn't going to be gutted like some kind of Mortal Combat move as soon as it is convenient for the king of the US to do so. They have no enforcement of their own, the other branches barely have to listen to them as it is, and by the time whatever CIA maga thug clubs them to death in their bed it's going to be too late for them to render a judgement on whether it's an official act. They'll be dead and replaced with someone who values their life more.

  • Supreme Court weakens federal regulators with Chevron overturning, threatening net neutrality, right to repair, big tech regulation, and more
  • How can I ignore that which you did not provide?

I literally pointed you to the court case where the court said the DNC was rigging the convention against Sanders. I provided you that. That's not my opinion, that's literally what happened in court and Wasserman Schultz resigned over it. Your eyes literally won't allow you to see it because it completely conflicts with the fantasy you want to believe is true (That the DNC isn't deeply corrupt and diametrically opposed to progressive values).

You've got to be a troll. We're done here.

  • Supreme Court weakens federal regulators with Chevron overturning, threatening net neutrality, right to repair, big tech regulation, and more
  • So you ignore the facts you don't like, and take the ones you do. And I'm projecting...

Why the fuck do you think Wasserman Schultz stepped down? What is your explanation if it's not the scandal involving her bias as chair exposed in the emails? Coincidence? What possible benefit to you gain from this denial of established reality?

  • Supreme Court weakens federal regulators with Chevron overturning, threatening net neutrality, right to repair, big tech regulation, and more
  • Ohh, a political "scientist" said it, must be a fact. I take back everything I posted, I will now pretend that Wasserman Schultz didn't actively admit to trying to rig the convention against Sanders and that the court literally said in plain english that's what was happening.

    Must've just been a coincidence!

The way you people try to rewrite history is insane.

  • Would America be as divided if Trump lost to Hillary in 2016?
  • Yes. This was longer in the making than just one cycle and democrats like Clinton have been the ones enabling the GOP.
