  • If you see someone being an ass, just call them out, especially if it's in a community you like.

  • What were they supposed to do then? Military invasion?

  • Lmao I experienced the same thing a few years ago, except it's not a ferry, but an actual bamboo raft operated by the locals.

  • At least with open street map, you can login to openstreetmap.org/edit and mark the bad road as private/gated or even delete it entirely. I did it on a bad road segment in my neighborhood and ride-sharing drivers no longer made wrong turns there (Grab apparently uses OSM instead of Google Maps data).

  • Any random internet users can create an account and upload stuff to the internet archive. Just be careful when you download softwares there.

  • No, it's obviously the (L)user's fault! My command line interface is perfectly fine!

  • Why not allow them to pass and then arrest them at the border? Surely better than bombing random buildings that may or may not have Hamas fighters inside.

  • They only allow a handful of curated extensions on mobile. You'll have to use the nightly build and jump through some hoops to install arbitrary extensions on mobile (mostly to allow devs to test their extension). Looks like they'll finally lift the restriction soon.

  • Is there any tool that can turns those wasted 3d print materials into a new filament spool?

  • Wand? That's obviously a staff.

  • You can still use sponsorblock and configure it to not skipping sponsor segments if you want, and still enjoying the benefits of automatically skipping useless segments such as intro, outro, subscription reminders, self promotion, recaps, etc.

  • People are starting to use different bootloaders now so I guess that infamous grub issue ended up being a good push for diversity in bootloader.

  • Nextcloud would struggle on devices with low CPU performance and slow storage speed. A Pi checks all those box. You might increase the performance a bit by running nextcloud from an external SSD but there is no fixing the Pi's low CPU performance.

  • Have you tried Kagi? The search results seems to be a lot better than Google. I'm able to find what I need using search terms that would only returns spammy e-commerce results on Google. I'm on a trial account but so far I'm impressed and might consider getting a paid family subscription if my wife also like it.

  • Google also said they would cancel there plan to roll out FLoC after significant pushback a while ago, only to renamed it as Ad Topics and roll them out anyway when no one is looking. If Google do the same with web integrity API, I wouldn't be surprised anymore.

  • YouTube don't even pay a fraction of those bandwidth as they run caching box on your ISP for free. ISPs won't let any random companies run equipments for free in their network, so this is a significant competitive advantage. You'll have to be a company as big as Google, Apple, or Netflix to do this.

  • Heck, they don't even pay a good fraction of their bandwidth because they put caching box in your ISP location to reduce loads. This is a huge privilege as ISPs won't let any random companies run equipments for free in their network, which is one of a huge barrier for any YouTube competitors.

  • Bet they'll just rename it later, like what they did with FLoC to Ad Topics.
