  • Truck Simulator players would disagree.

  • Whelp!

    Jump
  • How people from high context culture tell their guest it's time to leave: "whelp"

How people from low context culture tell their guess it's time to leave: "I think you should leave"

  • No amount of funding will make native desktop icon happen if the devs simply don't want to implement then.

  • My desktop would crash back to login screen after playing mass effect legendary edition. After exiting the game, if the desktop idle for a while, the moment the automatic screen off kick in, the CPU fan would whirl and if I wiggle the mouse, the desktop would immediately crash back to the login screen. Not sure whose fault it is, nvidia 545, EA, wayland or gnome.

  • Have you tried spoofing your User Agent string?

  • Next we will have people complain about how putting the device to sleep still drains the battery.

  • After quotes and anecdotes about love, loss, mountain climbing, and learning on the journey, the memo notes that nobody will be let go and that team members can make a ranked list of their top three preferred assignments elsewhere inside Automattic.

Other companies would've used the opportunity to fire most of the team. Kudos to Automattic.

  • I frequent Omegle too when it was text only, like more than a decade ago. Had a good time and didn't see a single dick.

  • Here I am admiring how the AI finally get the fingers look right until I noticed the extra arm.

  • This might work:

    • install an x server app in your phone (e.g. XSDL) and start it
    • install Termux from f-droid (the one in play store hasn't been updated due to changes in play store policy that prevents Termux package manager from working)
    • in Termux, run something like DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0 ssh -Y user@hostname
  • Damn you're right! Too bad they're not available in my country yet. I might be able to import one but with shipping and import tax it might ended up 10x more expensive than ordinary esp32 sold here.

  • I configured my Asus router with asuswrt-merlin firmware to route all DNS traffics to my Adguard instance to catch those apps and devices with hard-coded DNS. Those routed DNS queries appear in adguard as originating from my router's IP address, so I can easily see what apps and devices trying to bypass my dns. Turns out the main offender is Netflix.

  • If they are fully automated and solar powered, might be useful for shipping on the cheap if you have a swarm of it.

  • Don't worry, we'll make more helium later when cold fusion finally happen.

  • ZigBee devices use less power, which means if they're battery powered, it can last longer than wifi devices. It has faster handshake too. it can wakes up from sleep and transmit data in less than a second, while a WiFi devices may need several seconds to connect to your AP if it has been sleeping for some time. The difference in latency is really noticable for stuff like door sensor or movement sensor where the device may be sleeping for extended amount of time. But if you build your own device using esphome, I guess there is no option but to use wifi.

As for security, if they're both offline, is it really matter?

  • When will Google opensourcing their RCS implementation? This would enable RCS support on third party ROMs built from AOSP. Those 3rd party ROMs developers don't have resource to built their own RCS messaging app, which means you can't fully degoogled your phone if you want RCS support.

  • How could Hamas do this?!!1

  • I used Omegle a lot when it was still text-only chat more that a decade ago. Overall I had a positive experience, It was fun talking to strangers from all over the world. I never tried their video chat though, so I can't say if it's actually that horrible. Back then when it was text-only, so at least I don't have to worry about seeing some dicks. But if child predators favor the site now, even if Omegle went back to text-only, they'll still find a way to trick kids just like in other chat platforms.

  • Memory compression does allow the os to store to cram more data in the RAM, but does 8gb RAM with memory compression really equivalent to 16gb of RAM?

  • How do you navigate this many tabs? With an extension?
