  • What's the disadvantage of this system? Bigger wheel wells which reduce cargo space?

  • Revanced was one. Good thing they wisen up and have documentations now, though it's just a set of .md files in their git repo.

  • You old farts should keep up with times. /s

  • My favorite automation is adding a door sensor and motion sensor in the bathroom and replaced the bathroom light and exhaust switch with a ZigBee switch. Now we don't have to worry about bathroom light anymore. I haven't touched the bathroom light switch for months now. It's automatically turned on when the door opened, stay on if the bathroom is occupied, and turned off if the bathroom is empty (15 minutes of no movements, lower than that you'll start gettinh the light turned off when you're sitting on the throne).

  • I guess I got a kick out of it. Every time Home Assistant automatically turning on all lights 30 minutes before sun down, me and my kid would cheers. It's also nice to not worry about "have we locked the door?" or "have we turned off the AC/water heater/stove" etc because the automation take care of turning off everything when no one home, and automatically turning on lights when we got home at night. Also, there's an automation that send intruder alert if no one at home and the motion sensor/door sensor are tripped.

Note that they're not hassle free though. There is always a malfunction or two every one or two months, so I don't recommend it to anyone unless they like tinkering with stuff.

  • If you're using Sunshine on an nvidia system, you'll have to patch your nvidia driver to be able to use nvenc and nvfbc without restriction. Check out this repo for more info: https://github.com/keylase/nvidia-patch

  • Actual time spent micromanaging the AI until it produces the perfect code may or may not exceed writing the code yourself.

  • Unlike the good ol' malwares that let you know that you're infected by deleting your files or messing up your system, modern malware authors are profit-oriented and will do everything they can to make you unaware that your devices are infected. Then they'll exfiltrate your data and sell them on various underground marketplace such as this one.

  • Cloudflare has much more impact than other cloud vendors here simply because they MITM their customers by default. Combine that with ever increasing market share, cloudflare has the potential to tap into data not even Google analytics can collect because they're able to see all unencrypted data following through their reverse proxy. If they decided to up their analytics game, you won't be able to block their data collection with ublock origin.

  • I hope it's true because unlike google who only have a handful of pixel models, samsung actually has a lot of region-specific models that share the same model name but has different hardware depending on the region. Supporting all those permutation for 7 years seems too good to be true for me, especially for the low end ~$100 models, but one can only hope.

  • Do you have source that mention all Samsung models will be supported for 7 years? Everything I found so far seems to only mentioned their flagship devices and 4 years support for A, Note, Tab, etc models.

  • Not so easy to switch it you're balls deep into their products such as Worker, Zero Trust Network, Magic WAN, Stream, etc.

  • Cloudflare is cool now, but what would happen 10 years from now when they get enshittified while handling majority of global web traffics? We would be truly fucked.

  • How much the Enterprise plan on cloudflare cost? $300/mo?

  • Ugh, that's awful. So, either not using VPN and got throttled, or use vpn and got captcha?

  • Both Samsung and Google have committed to 7 years at this point.

    Only on certain models.
