Chomsky is pointing out that the US, who Ukraine is still very dependent on for military weapons, and Russia, who is invading Ukraine, have the power here.

Yes, Hamas is evil and did heinous things to the Israeli people, but the response was disproportionate and targeted civilians. Even the lowest estimates show that one in every fifty people in Gaza have been killed, and that number includes mostly women and children, not combatants. Heck, other estimates show nearly double that death toll.

This. It goes far beyond reckless, far beyond callous; it's literal genocide.
