I don't think we should be rooting for the Bell Riots but the pin is funny
  • Why not? The bell riots themselves was one of the steps to class consciousness, something we desperately need now. Yeah people were hurt, but how different is that than BLM and other rights protests being mass arrested or openly fired upon these days?

  • How can I quickly "unclog" firefox when it runs out of memory (with 1000/2000 tabs)
  • ....has Google still been giving you the same results recently? This is an extremely weak link in your setup to me. You'd be better off looking at a locally run search engine like peARs or something similar with locally downloaded and indexed files if you insist on using search, and it'll be waaaay more reliable than an LLM here.

  • What I'd recommend, based on the insistence that seeing to not change your workflow, is to locally download the pages you have open with httrack, wget or a similar application. This would allow you to locally search all your tabs and their contents very quickly without Google, they will load faster because of lack of needing to redownload them, which if I understand correctly Firefox is trying to do at some level.

  • Pride Month PSA: Y'all really need to knock this off
  • I know of at least one cis, straight white woman who goes there to avoid getting hit on by men, and also is trans/homophobic (and good old bi erasure) and an alt-right supporter. She goes with a group of 8-10 women with similar opinions (for reference that's ~15-25% of the total people I've seen there on a non-packed night). She gossips about who she saw to other alt-right people who would never set foot into those locations, even more so vocally despise LGBT, own automatic rifles and have "joked" about shooting LGBT people because they were LGBT. She doesn't mind taking up space there because she doesn't care about LGBT, just about reaping the benefits of us existing. I am going through transitioning myself (yay for your transition, I hope it's going well for you!), I do not pass and I go to gay bars because I want a place where I can be practice being myself in a safe space without feeling stared at. The spaces with her in it are a risk. (States too, VA)

I am in support of turning it into a space for oppressed minorities and known allies, but I am against simply telling my oppressors "yeah the door is open."

In order to get to a point where queer people are no longer forced to hide, we must stop choosing to do so.

Disagree, in order to get to that point I need have protections knowing I will not be oppressed or discriminated against. I will not give up one of my safe spaces in public in hopes that I will be accepted.
