To those of you who drink tea: What brand of tea do you drink?
  • I drink all kinds of different tea. At the moment I often drink Keiko Matcha and lots of really beautiful green tea my friend sent me from Taiwan. I love to coldbrew green tea in summer. Greek mountain tea my parents bring me from crete. I also buy fresh mint to make tea from some of the fresh leaves and to dry the rest.

Besides that my favorite brand is The English Teashop in all forms it comes in and Cupper/Clipper.

  • Ok, sleep well now.
  • I love, that the meme used the actual picture of a German fairytale.

Its called "The Dreadful Story Of Pauline And The Matches" - "Die gar traurige Geschichte mit dem Feuerzeug"

... But Pauline would not take advice, She lit a match, it was so nice! It crackled so, it burned so clear,-- Exactly like the picture here. She jumped for joy and ran about, And was too pleased to put it out. ...

Now see! oh, see! a dreadful thing! The fire has caught her apron string: Her apron burns, her arms, her hair; She burns all over, everywhere. ...

Pauline was burnt with all her clothes, And arms and hands, and eyes and nose; Till she had nothing more to lose Except her little scarlet shoes; And nothing else but these was found Among her ashes on the ground. And when the good cats sat beside The smoking ashes, how they cried, "Me-ow, me-o! Me-ow, me-oo! What will Mamma and Nursey do?" Their tears ran down their cheeks so fast They made a little pond at last.

  • How do I pronounce "Ich"?
  • The ch sound doesnt exist in many languages including english. Its more like a hissing sound I would say.

Try saying it like with a ish sound, but make your mouth broader, like the corners of your mouth have to go to the sides in a straight line.

I don't know if that makes sense, i just made that up while i-chhhhh hissing to myself. Let me know if it works 😅

  • Tea versus Coffee
  • I recently discovered cold brew coffee for myself (bought a cold brew jug on a whim at TJmaxx as one does) and I love how the coffee just doesn't have any bitterness anymore. The slow stewing in cold water really pulls out the flavour without the acidity.

  • Tea versus Coffee
  • I never understood why it has to be one or the other.

Sometimes I prefer coffee, sometimes some green tea in the morning, sometimes a cup of matcha if I'm feeling fancy. A cup of lavender tea with honey in the evening can be pure bliss, but an Italian affogado (espresso with vanilla icecream) in the afternoon can also be really perfect.

Btw it is also possible to like cats AND dogs.

  • Is my girlfriend gaslighting me? (Edit: No, she is not gaslighting me, but may have some other issues.)
  • Has any of you guys commenting even thought that they live in an overly dangerous place and she was genuinely scared?

Of course, waking him in the middle of the night was over the top and maybe a red flag, but anxiety can do that to you.

What would you do if the CCTV on our street is broken by chance?

Who has CCTV in a residential street, that isn't dangerous to walk through? Nowhere where I live, but I've been to some sketchy parts of Manila for example where my local friends would freak out at the thought of walking home from the corner alone. ("Oh my god, do you have a death wish? You can't let them drop you anywhere that isnt directly your actual door! Someone will kidnap or kill you!")

I think her behaviour was somewhat understandable if she was genuinely scared and felt let down by him because he seemingly didn't care for her safety.

We all act irrational sometimes when we are scared, that doesn't mean everyone has a personality disorder or someone even suggested schizophrenia. Seriously people! Cut others some slack for some irrational emotions every now and then.

OP, tell your girlfriend that you love her and care about her and that you'll make an effort to be more thoughtful of her safety and her fears in the future. Because this just might be it. She felt unsafe and that you didn't care if something happens to her. She probably had these thoughts on a loop in her head since she got home.

  • What is your favorite though provoking movie?
  • If you are into foreign films please look into german director Caroline Link.

She won an Oscar for foreign film with Nowhere in Africa , about the life of german-jewish writer Stefanie Zweig, who emigrated with her parents to Kenya under threat of Nazi Germany.

But my personal all time favorite movie is Beyond Silence about a hearing daughter of deaf parents who goes on and becomes a musician.

I'm german myself and generally consider german cinema an expensive form of torture with the great exception of Caroline Link.

  • How supportive is your family of your transition? (Rate 1-6)
  • I'm sorry, you are going through this. When believe systems and religion comes into it, something that can't be reasoned with or logically worked through, it all becomes so much more complicated.

I'm happy for you, that you both seem to be committed to work through it and I hope you eventually find a place between you, that you can be both happy and fulfilled with.

You are doing great. Keep going. Don't forget you are worthy of your happiness. Don't let the hard parts of life dimm your shine. You are strong, you are beautiful, you are loved.

  • How supportive is your family of your transition? (Rate 1-6)
  • Do you think your wife refuses to use your preferred pronouns, because it forces her to re-assess her own sexuality?

Even if your partner is supportive otherwise, unless they are bi or pansexual to beginn with, I can imagine, that this is a difficult part when your straight relationship suddenly changes into a queer one or vice versa over your partners transition.
