I'm going to assume the admins here all have 2FA on their accounts, right?
  • Ah, you are correct, My coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

  • It blocks bunch of JS from being executed, and if it detects XSS, it gives you a popup to inform you.

  • Hmm, that is the reason you should have addons in your browser to prevent XSS, like uBlock.

  • Yeap, that is the first thing you do for any privileged account.

  • Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?
  • Yeap, I moved a week before on Lemmy. Took couple of days to figure out how it actually works.

During that time opened a bunch of accounts on different instances.

Now I am on a small instance, which is near my location, so speed is good.

I stopped visiting that place since then. Now I only contribute here. I don't want to give them free labor so that they can make money.

  • Yea, But it doesn't federate with others. Making it unusable for the wider community.

Welcome r/India Reddit Refugees to Official India community on Lemmy
  • Hello and welcome. I took over and setup this community, specifically because I have spent close to a decade participating, to guide/help fellow redditors on that sub. I moved to Lemmy and wanted to give other refugees like me a place they can feel home.

  • Rexxitors: don't delete your posts and comments, make a statement!
  • I guess Reddit has already shown hostility towards fediverse in the past. If enough people do it then it just might be that they would not get all at same time and others on Reddit might be able to see and decide on their own what they would like to do.

  • A sincere thank-you to Steve Huffman. I'd have never found Lemmy without you.
  • I am on the same boat. I was on Reddit for close to 10 years, and this encouraged me to look for alternative. And you know what, now after spending few days here on Lemmy, it has started to grow on me. Especially the toxic free environment.

I moved to Lemmy and was missing one of my favorite sub.

After missing it, I decided to create and make it available to others like me.

Welcome all and let’s create a healthy environment for discussion and sharing tips.
