I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!
  • Why shouldn't I wish for people like you to die, who either defend the leaders and the oligarchs, who lick the boot, competing who's the best at it, in the sole hope that if they were to be, that would save them; or who are one of those people that should be taken to the guillotine first. You are the problem. Because this system you so ferociously rush to defend - you really think anything's gonna improve? Like really really?

Humanity has, in its search for infinite growth forever, flown past every marker, set by people who actually know stuff, by studies and statements by experts in their field and metastudies and the entire scientific method fucking EVERYTHING, that indicates that we should stop it, because it's destroying the world and everything in it, including most of us. Most of us will die because of the decisions of the few. And it is people like you (in case you aren't one of the few) who are still giving these people the power to do so.

And I don't think there's really anything we can do, now. Most of us, and I think you know who (or rather what kind of people) I mean by "us", will be killed by the powers that be, the ones whose boots you lick with such fervor. So why shouldn't I, or anyone likeminded to me, wish only for the worst for those people? They clearly do not care about anyone except themselves, so why should we reach across the aisle, so to say? They won't reach out to us. In this case, and I believe this is one of those universal truths, it will only lead to the empowerment of those who will not budge, and then - like what's happening in most countries atm - we get fascism! And don't get me wrong, these aren't your grampa's fascists, these are advanced fascists! With things to sell, like "security", or "stability", or perhaps "a promise that everything will be like it is and has been". Funnily enough, these are the same things the NSDAP sold in Germany not so long ago. With the same bible-thumping bullshit as the US has now. Back then it was the Jews (and the gays and the poles and the roma people and...) now it seems to be transgendered people first.

Also why do you think communism and socialism has mostly failed? Because of your thorough research of it, by reading and shit yeah? So you could understand the intricacies of global geopolitics? Or was it a teacher, or some other person of authority (which you are so quick to bow down to, clearly) who told you that "it doesn't work" and that was the end of it? Don't bother your pretty little head with thoughts like that; here, lick the fucking boot.

You are ruining the world and everything in it.

edit: add. probably shouldn't have even begun to write this, as the sheer weight of your stupidity has driven me so far up the wall that I can't seem to be even able to form a coherent argument. But then again, why should I? It's not like telling you the truth will get you to stop the boot licking. So I don't fucking know, come at me I guess?

  • Why more Indians are crossing borders illegally to enter the US
  • That would probably cripple both countries' economies, and given the current idiocracy in charge of the US I wouldn't give them any ideas like this...

  • Yeah, I mean, you gotta make some sacrifices for the greater good, you know? Plus she's a politician, right? Sooo...

  • I support this idea. Invite most of the world's nations' leaders, too. I think the Met-gala attendees and G20 summit attendees might be a good starting point all-in-all. Then seize the means of production etc., you know how it goes.

  • Hah! Haha! Hahahaahah! Ties well with this one news article that I glimpsed that claims that by 2030 the need for fresh water will be 140% of the world's freshwater reserves. Infinite growth forever!

  • Is it narcissistic to use positive affirmations to build confidence?
  • feels like saying “I know that already, why’d you even mention it”.

Yeah, it can sound like that. But then again, I live in a tiny, sad excuse for a city in rural Finland, and in my small circles I'm known for dressing "up" or just dressing well. I have a certain sense of style, and I know what clothes fit me and look good on me. It's actually something I've worked on for a long time, and I'm quite proud of my ability to do so. So it ties to that, see? What I was trying to bring across was maybe that one shouldn't be ashamed of things one has achieved, but the context was obviously lacking.

  • yeah I was assuming (incorrectly) that "the boot" would translate into German as "Das Boot". Should've known better, or fact-checked myself. Anyway, I'm calling them out for being a bunch of bootlickers, which they are, until someone tells me the Brazilian government tortured their grandmas and pet dogs in order to force them to participate. Of which I wouldn't be surprised, though.

  • Is it narcissistic to use positive affirmations to build confidence?
  • Oh yeah, I do that too! I've been doing it as a conscious effort towards a positive self-talk, like when people tell me I look good or something I reply "I know, thanks" instead of the usual knee-jerk reaction of completely disregarding them and possibly even denying it verbally, for about three-four years now, essentially as a "fake it till you make it" kind of an attitude towards self-confidence. And I too have been struggling with this, the thought of "am I being narcissistic?" when I dare feel anything but burning hatred towards myself and my own well-being. Herein lies a distinction, the important difference between 1) having narcissistic traits (which, like it or not, everyone - including you, because you aren't that special to be completely devoid of them - has) and 2) having these traits in so much of an excess that it could and would be diagnosed as narcissistic personality disorder (which is rare, like 1% of population can be diagnosed).

I trust the sentiment that /u/Clent (btw does Lemmy work like this?) below said, that "No narcissist has ever asked themselves if they are being narcissistic". People who suffer from this personality disorder don't work like that. Also judging by what you bring forward here I really wouldn't worry about it; usually people who call other people "narcissistic" when said person is acting "selfishly" (with a stark contrast to the complete anti-self acting previously exhibited) don't know what they are talking about.

But of course it is good to look in a mirror every once and a while, especially regarding how you act towards other people. I have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, which is in the same cluster of personality disorders as narcissistic and also anti-social personality disorders, and I can recognize in myself the tendency to act without judgement towards my own actions. Beforehand, that is, hindsight is always 20/20 though. But usually these actions tell me that I am in dire distress, and need help urgently. Your mileage may vary.

I have a trauma-based personality disorder, which sometimes manifests itself in episodes of often uncontrollable bouts of verbal violence. I prefer to direct this to people on the internet (as opposed to actual people), as I don't wish to be violent towards people I actually care about.
