One move is to unleash its missiles and take out “decision centers” as in Kiev and the electrical grid in most if not all of Western Ukraine. Russia now needs to prostrate Ukraine.
It's not just "not unabashedly pro-Ukraine", it repeats Russian propaganda word for word. That "decision center" is such a Russian propaganda cliche it hurts, not to mention later "Donald Trump should choose Russia to save the world" from Ritter.
Ukraine, not Russia, represents an existential threat to humanity.
Oh fuck off, Scott Ritter.
Nah, best day. Cuz their strategic aviation ceasing to exist would be for the best.
Russian news now call this "A teRroRiStIc AcT" though.
Oh, yep, SBU just officially announced that same number. My mistake.
Someone also tried to redirect credit for that to Brits/Yanks. Mostly Brits, they were also accused of sinking Moskva cruiser.
Russians maybe think that ignoring Ukrainian capabilities is a good way of coping (not to ignore aid from our allies, big part of our survival), but in reality they make it look like they're getting bullied by absolutely everyone and they swallow it all up.
Ukraine has pressure from other allies too, to participate in that. Taco Don said he'd be a mediator in such talks, if there was personal meeting of Zelensky and Putin, but it seems that even man of that much density started noticing that one side is clearly uncooperative and only manipulates US to stop aid to Ukraine.
1st of June is also Russian "Day of military aviation". 🌚 And tomorrow there'll be second round of talks in Istanbul, so yeah, our boys will be packed with cards.
Their entire history, beginning from Duchy of Moscow, is being told as "that neighbouring tribe was threatening us, so we had to take some action", and that just happens over and over again until they reached Pacific ocean.
They had 3 wars with Chukcha people alone - and these people live in a region that would be best described as "frozen ass beyond polar cap". You'd think that people from swamps around Moscow would have no business occupying some frozen ass, but they didn't think so.
And that, ladies and gentlemen (and everyone else), may be entire Russian strategic bomber fleet, one that has been terrorizing Ukrainian cities for years now.
Every time they got their ass kicked - like when Kerch bridge was blown up or Moskva was sunk - you'd be sure to expect a bombing run at night. That was their temper tantrum weapon, and one that simply terrorized our people, Kyiv and outskirts had it really bad last few weeks. And now it may be gone.
It probably would make sense to jam drones around these bases, but I think that Russians simply didn't believe there would be any enemy drones 6000 km away from Ukraine.
There was a comment from Kyslytsia on how Russians behave on such talks, and also what they themselves announced:
- demands to surrender 4 oblasts to them or they'll be demanding 8 next time.
- talking about the war being "Russians versus Russians".
- also the "need to remove root cause of conflict".
- and my favourite: "no suing each other afterwards (entire delegation of theirs would stand no chance in Hague)".
- also no reparations, but Ukraine has to pay for rebuilding of Donbass.
One has to be painfully dense to not see which side isn't "ready for peace", and sadly we have no shortage of such folks now.
Well, they'll probably have manlier problems to deal with since moving to Russia is leopard eating your face speedrun, with examples such as Russel Bentley or that one conservative Canadian family that sold their everything to move to Russia and got their money stolen by Russian banks.
As if Europe didn't have one demented moron routinely threatening everyone with nukes for years now. 🌚
It's funny in a morbid way, because to find "the root cause of conflict" Putin has to just take a look at a mirror, not look for them in Ukraine. Yet they're very insistent that "root causes if conflict" should be removed as part of any peace agreement.
