Dunno about best, but I had a few instances where I posted a thread only for it to be deleted by a mod and then reposted by them. Gotta farma that karma. I maybe could have disputed it, but getting into a tussle over someones love for numbers that go up feels a bit pathetic.
I have a friend who wanted to get into F1 this year. He was looking forward to supporting Ricciardo as they both support the same football team, so he was pretty sad to hear that he didn't have a drive.
Four races in and he bowed out saying he might watch the highlights, but overall the races are too boring to watch.
I can understand his problem, a lot of the skill is not easily seen given how good the field is. F1 doesn't (often) have drivers slamming into each other and spinning off. F2/3 deliver much more in that space.
Albon's race craft last Sunday was exceptional, an absolute joy to watch, but I guess not if you're hoping to see some mad cap overtakes and wild moves
Not really without a lot of work. The good thing is that there's already Apollo inspired apps available. Mlem, and Memmy support iOS and they're getting better by the day. I'd recommend checking them out and contributing feedback. You should soon have your Apollo style experience.
I didn't look too deeply at it, but I'm presuming the setup using websockets pulling live post data is just building up a massive dump of html over time. Would probably be better to handle how scrolling and post data works so that the tab isn't just an ever growing dataset if the window is left open, have it flush away old posts and only retain ~200 in the live feed.
I could be completely wrong with this though as I haven't looked at how lemmy works under the hood.
Can confirm I was looking for the right community to talk about this instance and when I saw posts about noodles I presumed this was not it (I actually didn't read the sidebar). Would be good to enforce moderation a bit more on this space. Not that I don't love noodles.
I like the current green upvote color more than the orange in the proposed design, I associate orange with negative, maybe as it's closer to red. Green is positive for sure "Green light go!".
I think the border between posts is a bit too big, could be halved. Some gap between posts or a border is good, but too much costs information real estate.
The community search bar at the top is a good addition, though might be better to reveal on a short pull down action. Brief or short pull down reveals search bar, longer pull down refreshes feed. This perhaps could be true of the subscribe, about, favorite buttons. I'm just thinking of most common use, and all these things are more of an occasional/secondary use.
Watched this a few days ago. Really fun watch. Actually featured a few games I wasn't familiar with: Kingon, Xtreme Paintball and Nam. But any video that dives into Trespasser gets an upvote from me.
Couple of spins and offs. They've managed it pretty well though given how wet it is. Sainz might be in trouble not just for his car smash but also dangerous driving in front of Albon. Expect some investigation after the session on that I think (not heard if they are looking into it yet).
"irl loli" ??? Is that some way of downplaying CP? It's fucking CP?!?! Holyshit. I can't believe they switched the term to try and not sound so bad.
EDIT: Just read the post and they say IRL kids. Still, the terminology feels like it stems from replacing drawings with photos, like it's just another medium of expression, not an act of wicked abuse to the subject.
