  • To build upon my previous response, I'd advice using template matching of plant leaves for instance, just as in this example, "Template Matching with Multiple Objects", on the bottom of the page with the Mario coins.

    Could be a good starting point if you're interested on building this further.

  • Solid readme. Haven’t checked out the code but the steps outlined in the readme are well written and a great start to get this up and running.

    OpenCV is a good addition to this, to track plant coloring for instance. A snapshot every X hours could be good, outlining plant colors in an array of pixels. Could give you an additional idea of how the plants are doing.
