  • Once upon a time I used DDR to lose 30-40 pounds. I really enjoyed playing the game—even if I was never really great at it—and the side benefit is that I got into better shape.

But, that was a long time ago, in the PS1 era. Now—other than your L-TEK recommendation, which looks doable—I’m not even sure how I’d get back into it. Maybe worth my digging into again, seeing as how age has been putting on the pounds…

  • I never thought in my life that I would have opinions about vegan cheese, but, oh boy, do I. So many choices, and I think that’s great. But, they are all jam-packed with coconut oil, which tastes just awful to me and gives my stomach the turns.

At the time I had to make the switch, Miyoko’s did a cashew-based sliced cheese—without a hint of coconut oil—that I thought was amazing. But, they ditched that product because it wasn’t ’up to their standards’(?) Every time I go by the non-dairy cheese section and see a new product, I get a brief glimmer of hope it’ll be some similar product, and that I can finally have cheese without worry again.

  • I feel like this really the killer feature.

I’ve seen a ton of digital ink spilled on all manner of positives, such as how amazingly-portable it is, or how it’s been doing wonders for the advancement of Linux gaming.

But, I’ve yet to see anybody—outside you—speak about how amazing the suspend/resume is. And, that for me, is the reason why I play on a SteamDeck almost exclusively these days—even though I have a small collection of games I can play on Mac. I have such small windows of opportunity, and appreciate I can still play a game, even for a little as a few minutes.

  • I appreciate how far NA beers have come since O’Douls. It’s gotten to the point where I can much more easily replace the want for a certain kind of beer in some situations—a party, working out in the yard, eating certain foods—with a Partake or an Athletic, and not feel like I’m missing something.

But, gosh, I want someone other than Guinness to make a good NA stout.

  • I’m a pretty emotional dude. I tear up at a lot of things, happy and sad. But, there are very few things in this life that have caused me to totally break down, ugly crying. The ending to “To the Moon” is one of them. Too visceral a reminder of saying goodbye to people I’ve loved very much.

  • Nier: Automata.

Tried to get into it earlier this year after I got it on sale. Was not in the right mindset then to have to replay the whole intro just because I died to the first boss.

Retried again this past weekend and have since been enjoying a pretty decent action RPG.
