  • I just realized that it's hard to imagine someone saying you should speak English because lemmy/kbin is an amaerican website. I'm sure we've all seen that more than once on reddit.

  • Good God, Lemmy! 🍋

  • Yep! Kinda surreal to see that something like this is even possible since it seems like a contradiction.

  • Yeah, that's why I struggle to enjoy games like Civilization. I feel like one bad move on turn 5 may mean defeat, but I'll only find out on move 100.

  • I'll check it out!

    EDIT: Looks really interesting, actually!

  • I've played the demo before, really enjoyed it!

  • Oh, thanks for bringing this to my attention! My problem with city building games is usually just that, too stressful. I don't mind being attacked every once in a while, for example, but if being slightly unprepared to deal with an attack means total failure, then I tend to go play something else...

  • Exactly. On reddit I'd probably type out this comment, see that the post is X hours old or see that there are already 5000 replies and think "meh, no one will see this anyway. Best case scenario I get an upvote or two". But here I feel like I'm part of a conversation and actually contributing something.

  • I wonder if anyone at reddit is starting to think "wait.... maybe the community IS important?" Nah, probably not.

  • Dammit. What I did was:

Instead, try going https://lemmy.world/search and entering the full URL for the community ( https://kbin.social/m/LucidDreaming ). It'll spin for a little longer than usual but it should show up in the search results.

I tried the equivalent at sh.itjust.works but I only find comments. On lemmy.world the link for the community was on the second page, but on sh.itjust.works there's nothing on the second page (which is weird since there is a next button that takes me to "no results"). Hmm. Does you instance have a support thread where someone might be having similar issues?

  • Yes! Awesome, nice to have you :)

  • I was about to reply saying that the search didn't work, that I could only see two comments I made in kbin.social sharing the link, but then I pressed the next button and there was a one line link to the community on the next page. Really weird formatting, but that did it! Thanks a lot! :)

EDIT: @cdiv So it turns out that this worked for lemmy.world but not for sh.itjust.works. When I search there I only see comments where people have mentioned the link, but no actual link to the community. This is so weird and confusing lol

  • I've been trying to get this to work for someone (I'm on kbin, they're on lemmy) but I just get a 404 error. The magazine is kbin.social/m/LucidDreaming, so following your guide I should try https://lemmy.world/c/LucidDreaming@kbin.social, correct? Any idea what's going wrong?

  • Hmm, ok. I'll see if I can figure it out

  • Yes, thank you!

    EDIT: didn't work :(

  • That sounds awesome :) Yeah, it is possible to approach it in a "lighter" way. If you don't take it too seriously, for example, or learn to enjoy your non-lucid dreams. Also finding the "right approach" for you will help. It's definitely exhausting to put a lot of energy into something that isn't working well.

  • Lemmy? Someone else asked me to add a "link for lemmy". I'm still new at all this, so I'll look into it.
