Instead of forcing it through when he could, he sent it to committee where no consensus was reached. Instead of compromising with a small improvement the NDP flat out refused anything but proportional representation. With ranked balloting the NDP would consistently win more seats than they do now and we would have more minority governments where compromising would result in more progressive legislation.
That is a very interesting fault line just to the right of the center of the image. Makes you wonder what the cause and timeline were. Where did the rock layers on the right side end up?
One party in Canada always has reduction of taxes as a major campaign promise. To be elected you can not inform voters that maintaining or increasing services will require higher taxes so we suffer with reduced services. The world needs to resume taxing businesses and the oligarchy.
Committee stalemates in a minority government angers a significant number of voters because nothing ever gets done. There will always be a group opposed to whatever the current government does. One group seems to complain more often than the others. If the Conservatives were in power would you have the same complaint if they stacked committees?

If some parts have to be ordered 15 years in advance you can not pin the purchase on a specific Prime Minister. We need to remove money from corporate donations from our political system, there should not be any influence permitted.
