Zelensky: 'Our partners fear that Russia will lose this war'
  • It is very much to Ukraine's benefit to drag out this war if the alternative is Russian subjucation.

If on the other hand the alternative you are seeking is flooding Ukraine with Western-provided weapons to the point that they annihilate the invaders and win quickly.. yeah, that would be better for Ukraine than a drawn-out war.

  • Phones with actual keyboards
  • It is a bit expensive and odd looking, but there is this https://www.clicks.tech/

External keyboard case for the iphone 14, and they are planning more.

I'm acquainted with some of the people in this company, and they are as much believers in keyboard phones as the rest of us.

  • A lot of Redditors hate the Reddit IPO | Reddit warned us that its users were a risk factor, and boy do they sound excited about shorting its stock.
  • When the volume of potentially relevant and interesting content is enormous to the point that a standard human brain can't possibly hope to filter through all of it in reasonable time, the algorithm makes plenty of sense.

I just want a fair algorithm that represents what is best for me and us.

  • Proud Boys’ Enrique Tarrio gets record 22 years in prison for Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy
  • Even if this event is a bit old, I think I see the point in reposting it. A right-wing liar will repeat a lie often enough, and that repetition will embed that idea in people's heads.

This is truth, and it is so incredibly relevant to our situation right now. Maybe it is a few months old, but we need to internalize on a visceral level that j6 participants are criminals who were brought before the law and rightfully punished for offenses against all of us. This needs to be publicised, and if it means we see this exact article (and hopefully similar ones for others involved) over and over again, then that's the way it has to be.

  • I could see this being a lot more practical to carry around. I have a Brompton and a Uscooter. and while carrying them around is doable they are certainly not small to have on you.

Something backpackable is probably subpar to ride for long distances, but likely easy enough to just always have on you.

  • ‘Greedflation’ study finds many companies were lying to you about inflation
  • Seriously.

There is always the chance of entering a discussion with someone who disagrees with your "obvious" assertions and also may have the ability to change something. It is always good for someone to actually go and look to prove your point with real verifiable evidence instead of just going "well obviously I'm right" and ending it there.

  • I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."
  • Not a dumb question if you haven't been keeping up.

The Steam Deck runs Linux and not Windows by default. (It can be loaded by the user if desired.)

Given their desire for a nearly-console-like experience, they put in a bunch of effort into the Proton compatibility layer to get Windows games to work here. It's not perfect, but it really is a very good experience at this point.

I personally do have a fairly powerful Windows desktop, but the vast majority of my gaming is on Linux on my Steam Deck now.

  • I saw LDS 4x08 at NYCC yesterday!

The episode is named "Caves". It's about caves.

    Caaaves.

And now Bezos is trying to insert ads everywhere
  • Honestly, this.

The economics of the world are such that people need to be paid for the content they produce. Having a direct relationship between me as the consumer and them as the producer is the way we don't get shit like all of the ad-based spyware that surrounds shit like Facebook. It won't completely prevent it, but it gives a good business plan for it not to happen.

I'd vastly prefer something that didn't require some megacorp as evil as Amazon. But.. this could actually make as much sense as is possible with our current economic system.
